Three FireSat satellites launch to improve AI wildfire detection

Three operational FireSat satellites launched as part of the Earth Fire Alliance program, supported by Google Research and built with Muon Space. The system is intended to detect early fires, including small low-intensity events that conventional satellites can miss.

The initiative is a concrete example of AI’s value depending on a wider system: purpose-built sensors, historical imagery, operational partners and reliable delivery to fire agencies.
