Meta releases Muse Glimmer, a 30B local agentic model

Meta released Muse Glimmer, a 30-billion-parameter open-weight multimodal model for always-on local agent workflows. It is published under Apache 2.0 and designed to run on a consumer GPU with a quantized footprint that leaves room for a perception encoder and speculative-decoding drafter.

For privacy-sensitive teams, capable local agents can reduce data exposure and inference dependence, but hardware capacity, model security and update ownership remain the team’s responsibility.
